Nairobi
Places to stay and some places to eat
Upper Hill Campsite and Backpackers
www.upperhillcampsite.com
Although this place is a bit off the beaten track, it
makes for a short walk to town center. The restaurant
is cheap, and well worth the prices.
They advertise hot showers, which do actually occur!
Seemed to be a lot of foreigners when we were there,
so if your interested in networking with other groups
this would be a good place to do it.
Tenting was fun, at 300Ksh a head, and security was
at it's best.
Bandas and dorms are also available. Get to their
website for reservations and price updates.

EVEN WITH THE POLITICAL CRISIS THEY ARE
STILL HERE AND OPEN.
As of March 1st 2008 UPPER HILL IS MOVING TO:
OTHAYA ROAD

The Hotel Boulevard

This is a great place to stay if your wanting something on the nicer end of the
scale, but not to over the top. Single including full breakfast is 5140Ksh
Boasts a pool, outdoor garden area and only 7 minute walk into town.
The staff are fantastic and the hotel offers 24hour security.
Java House
www.nairobijava.com
Java House on Koinange Street (big
Java house in midtown Nairobi) is the
best western food, especially if you've
been roughing it! Located near City
Market, you can shop, have an
espresso milkshake and get back to
shopping without skipping a beat.
Thai beef salad, Cajun creaser salad,
and the roast beef open grilled
baguette just to name a few! It's a must
go!
Hilton Hotel
www.hilton.com
The Hilton Hotel is a world apart when it comes to the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. The
restaurant on the first floor is amazing. All you can eat buffets both for breakfast and dinner. While
not the cheapest in town, it's well worth the price if you've been missing a few meals. 1500Ksh pp
for dinner, which includes: Roast Duck, Leg of Lamb and much, much more..(even real salad!)
